Hope you like my teaser Pictures for my new quilt pattern Diamonds in Diamonds -it will be available next Monday... so excited about that.

Hoffe, ihr mögt meine kleinen Vorschaubilder von meiner neuen Quiltanleitung Diamonds in Diamonds - ab nächsten Montag ist sie dann zu haben... bin schon sehr aufgeregt.

I had some renovations to do at home and I am still not ready with unpacking all stuff, but there are the good parts of it - resorting threads for example :).

Ich hatte ja ein paar Renovierungsarbeiten zu erledigen und bin immer noch nicht mit dem Auspacken fertig, aber das da oben sind die schönen Dinge zum Wiedersortieren - Garne :).

And yesterday evening I started again to make some sleepingbag pouches for a market... I am still not tired to make them ...

Und gestern Abend habe ich wieder mal angefangen ein paar Schlafsäckchenmäppchen zu nähen für einen Markt... ich hab immer noch nicht genug davon...

Monday Makers meet the Around the World Blog Hop

Welcome to my turn on the Around the World Blog Hop. Today you will be visiting Germany!  Thanks to the lovely Nesta from Ella and Nesta that she nominate me. I felt so happy, excited and honored at the same time when she picked me to go on with this blog hop. Just visit Nestas post about her stop of the world tour and come to Italy with her. She is so creative and sometimes out of my comfort zone that I love to see, what she is doing.

Herzlich Willkommen beim Around the World Blog Hop, heute seid ihr bei mir in Deutschland! Vielen lieben Dank an Nesta von Ella and Nesta,  dass sie mich nominiert hat. Ich habe mich riesig gefreut und geehrt gefühlt, dass sie mich ausgesucht hat auf dieser Reise. Schaut doch mal bei ihr vorbei, sie war letzte Woche dran mit ihrem Stopp in Italien. Sie ist mit ihren Kreationen oft außerhalb meiner Komfortzone, was mir an ihr so gefällt.

Now back to the blog hop and some questions to answer...

Und nun zurück zum Blog Hop und zum Beantworten von einigen Fragen...

1. Where I live or have lived?  Wo ich lebe oder gelebt habe?

I am a Berliner and it seams as if I don´t want to live somewhere else (I tried), but you never know :).

Ich bin eine Berlinerin und es sieht aus, als ob ich auch nirgenwo anders wohnen möchte (ich hab´s versucht), aber man weiß ja nie :).

2. What am I working on?      Woran arbeite ich gerade?

At the moment I try to finish a sleepingbag pouch with really small hexies for a special lady, hope to surprise her with this :).

Im Moment versuchte ich ein Schlafsäckchenmäppchen mit wirklich kleinen Hexies fertig zu bekommen für eine ganz besondere Lady. Ich hoffe, ich kann sie damit überraschen :).

And I am nearly finishing my first quilt pattern: the Diamonds in Diamonds. Pattern writing could be my newest obsession.

Und ich hab meine erste Quilt-Anleitung fast fertig: Diamonds in Diamonds. Anleitungen schreiben könnte meine neuste Leidenschaft werden.

  

3. How does my work differ from others in its genre?      Wie unterscheidet sich meine Arbeit von anderen in meinem Genre?

That´s a hard question and I think other could better answer this one.

Das ist eine schwere Frage und ich denke, dass andere sie besser beantworten können.

4. Why do I write/create what I do?      Warum schreibe oder gestalte das was ich eben schreibe und gestalte?

This is an easy question: Because it satisfies me an it makes me happy. I really love what I do.

Das hier ist dafür eine einfache Frage: Weil es mich zutiefst befriedigt und glücklich macht. Ich liebe wirklich, was ich da mache.

5. How does my writing/creating process work?  Wie funktioniert mein Schreib- oder Kreativprozess?

I am very intuitive and spontanous, I love working on more than one project and I love to write it down an show pictures... it's like a creative diary.

Ich bin sehr intuitiv un spontan und liebe es an mehreren Projekten gleichzeitig zu sitzen und darüber zu schreiben und Bilder zu zeigen... es ist wie ein Kreativtagebuch.

She is such a great artist and sewing friend New Zealand and I am proud to anounce her new blog which startrd yesteray. So curious to read more about her besides her pictures and comments on Flickr and Instagram.

Ein Teil dieses Blog Hops ist, sich selbst vorzustellen und der andere jemanden zu nominieren. Ich hatte es da nicht sonderlich schwer und habe Rachel von Wooden Spoon ausgewählt. Sie ist eine geniale Künstlerin und eine Nähfreundin aus Neuseeland und ich bin echt stolz, ihren neuen Blog anzukündigen, der gestern an den Start ging. Ich bin schon so neugierig, mehr von ihr zu lesen als nur die Kommentare unter ihren Bilder auf Flickr und Instagram.

SWAP°PEN auf Deutsch 5

Hi there not German Speaking people: I am so sorry, but this post will be only nice to read for you , but you cannot participate. But if you are interested I will tell you what this is about.

Hi Ihr nicht deutsch sprechenden Leute: Es tut mir so Leid, aber dieser Post ist für Euch nur nett zu lesen, aber mitmachen könnt Ihr Leider nicht. Fall es Euch aber interessiert, erzähle ich euch darüber.


In December 2012 I started the German speaking swap SWAP°PEN auf Deutsch. I love this name, because it includes the English word "swap" and forms a German verb from a foreign word. The aim was to get the modern quilting community in Germany a bit closer together.


Im Dezember 2012 habe ich den deutschsprachigen Swap = Tausch SWAP°PEN auf Deutsch ins Leben gerufen. Ich liebe den Namen, weil er das englische Wort "swap" beinhaltet und als Verb verdeutscht ist. Das Ziel war, die deutsche Moderne Quiltwelt ein wenig zusammen zu rücken.


And now this swap is really going in round 5!!! This time we swap a pillowcase, miniquilt or tote, BUT there is a minimum of participants of 40 and this could be a challenge. So go and spread the word... in German of course :))).


Und nun geht der Swap wirklich schon in die 5te Runde!!! Dieses mal tauschen wir Kissenhüllen, Miniquilts oder Beutel, ABER es gilt vorher noch eine Hürde zu überwinden. Es müssen mindestens 40 Teilnehmer werden, das ist die Herausforderung. Also geht los und verkündet die frohe Botschaft... :))))


Here are the items I made for this swap, but unfortunately I didn´t participate on all of the swaps, but this time I am in again. So curious!


Und hier sind die Sachen, die ich in dem Swap bisher gemacht habe. Leider war ich nicht bei allen dabei, aber diesen Mal mach ich wieder mit. Bin schon ganz neugierig!

Pattern Testing and some Bee Blocks

Isn´t this a beautiful bag? So glad, I could test the Crimson and Clover Train Bag for Sara from SewSweetness. I had no time at all, because I had to change all plans because of unexpected painting work in two rooms, but I had promised to test it before the paintings. The last I packed were my fabrics and so I could unpack them at first again. I sewed this bag in a completly empty room with empty furniture except my fabric closet. You have to set priorities :))).

The pattern will be out soon!

Ist das nichte eine tolle Tasche? Ich bin so froh, dass ich die Crimson and Clover Train Bag für Sara von SewSweetness testen konnte. Ich hatte eigentlich überhaupt keine Zeit, da sich meine Pläne aufgrund von unerwarteten Renovierungsarbeiten in zwei Zimmern komplett geändert hatten - ich hatte aber schon vorher zugesagt, die Anleitung zu testen. Als letztes habe ich meine Stoffe eingepackt und konnte sie somit auch als ersten auspacken. Ich habe also in einem leeren Raum mit leeren Möbeln außer meinem Stoffschrank die Tasche genäht. Man muss eben Prioritäten setzen :))).

Die Anleitung wird es bald geben.

Haha, so sieht mein Stoffschrank jetzt aus, hoffentlich hält das 'ne Weile an.

While unpacking and sorting I really got afraid, I could not finish my Bee blocks in time, so I though, I could Start with one and after 3 hours all were done, that was so much fun to interup the boring work and do some sewing.

Während ich ausgepackt und sortiert habe, bekam ich es mit der Angst zu tun, dass ich meine Bee-Blöcke nicht rechtzeitig schaffen könnte und dachte: machte mal wenigstens einen und schwups waren sie alle nach 3 Stunden genäht. Gut, dass das blöde Auspacken unterbrochen habe.

Working on a pattern...

Hi there, it´s been a while since I wrote the last sentences, but I was busy in Holiday, sewing some EPP and planning my new quilt pattern DID Diamonds in Diamonds. It´s so much fun, drawing, making the maths and trying your own pattern. Now it´s going to be tested and I am so curious, what the ladies are creating.

Hi ihr da, ich hab schon eine kleine Weile keine Sätze mehr verfasst, aber ich war beschäftig mit Urlaub, ein wenig Handnähen und dem Planen einer neuen Quiltanleitung DID Diamonds in Diamonds. Es macht mir so viel Spaß zu zeichen, rumzurechnen und die eigenen Anleitung auszuprobieren. Jetzt wird sie von netten Probanden getestet und ich bin schon gespannt wie ein Flitzebogen, was die Mädels so zaubern.

This one is a small version of the DID with lots of fussycut.

Dieses Exemplar ist eine kleine Version von DID mit viel Detailgeschnipsel.
