Christmas Tree - 13 Blocks QAL - Week 6: Block 9 & 10

Unbelievable that we are already in week 6 - only 7 week before Christmas Eve. So let´s hurry up to finish our Christmas Tree - 13 Blocks Quilts. I was really overwhelmed to see so many beautiful blocks and even finished tops in the linky party last week. You are fantastic!!!

Unglaublich, dass wir schon in Woche 6 sind - nur noch 7 Wochen bis Weihnachten. Also lasst uns hinne machen und unser Christmas Tree - 13 Block-Quilt rechtzeitig fertig bekommen. Ich war echt überwältigt über die schönen Blöcke und sogar fertigen Tops, die ihr letzte Woche in der Linky Party gezeigt habt. Ihr seid fantastisch!!!

This week we will show you the blocks 7 and 8 and I deliver block 6 in my vintage style, because my sewing machine was broken last week. I know, you don´t want to here it any more haha, but no. 6 is my absolutely favourit block.

And here are all 8 blocks.... 5 to go... I am not sure about my finished layout, but I already know, that my vintage blocks will not be a Christmas Tree at the end :).

This week we will show you the blocks 5 and 6. Some time ago I already made my Christmassy blocks, but my vintage blocks I sew just in time always 1 or 2 days before this blogposts. But this time I coulnd´t make both but only one of them because my sewing mashine broke. I am soooo upset about this and hope to find someone today to repair it. We have autum-holidays in Berlin and so some people are away. Wish me luck - I have / want so many things to finish or go on :(.

 

Diese Woche zeigen wir Euch die Blöcke 5 und 6. Meine Weihnachtsblöcke habe ich ja schon vor einiger Zeit genäht, aber die Vintageteile, die nähe ich immer 1-2 Tage vor dem Blogpost. Tja, und da haben wir den Salat. Meine Nähmaschine ist gestern einfach ausgefallen. Ich habe alles versucht, aber sie muss von einem Fachmann untersucht werden. Hoffentlich finde ich jemanden in den Herbstferien. Ich bin soooooo unglücklich darüber - hab noch so viele Sache fertig zu nähen oder weiterzukommen :(.

 

Beyond my second vintage block I wanted to go on with my mini for the Schnitel & Boo Round 4 Mini Swap (on IG). I made this pattern inspired by old tiles. First I wanted to sew it pieced normally, but the risk that the points don´t meet easily was to high, so I drew me a foundation paper template and wanted also to go on with this blocks yesterday evening, when my mashine broke. I call this pattern "Flower Ring".

Neben meinem zweiten Vintageblock wollte ich mit meinem Mini für den Schnitzel & Boo Round 4 Mini Swap (auf Instagram) weitermachen. Inspiriert von alten Fliesen habe ich mir diese Nähen-auf-Papier Vorlage gezeichnet. Erst wollte ich den Block ganz normal nähen und stückeln, aber das Risiko, dass die ganzen Punkte sich nicht treffen, war mir zu groß. Hiermit wollte ich gestern Abend auch weiternähen, als meine Nähmaschine den Geist aufgab. Ich habe den Block "Flower Ring" - Blumenkreis - genannt.

Christmas Tree - 13 Block QAL Week 3: Blocks 3 and 4

Hi there, we are already at week 3 of our Christmas Tree - 13 Blocks QAL and there are so many beautiful blocks in lots of different style to see on flickr and Instagram (#christmastreeqal). 

 

Hi Ihr, wir sind echt schon in Woche 3 von unserem Christmas Tree - 13 Blocks QAL und es gibt so viele tolle unterschiedliche Blöcke auf Flickr und Instagram (#christmastreeqal) zu sehen.

 

This week we will show you the blocks 3 and 4. I just finished my 2 blocks with my No-Christmas-Fabrics in a vintage style this evening and while I made pictures of my two blocks of no. 3 and the two blocks of no. 4, I recognized, that I made a "mistake" on my christmas block no. 4. I just switched the colors inside the star and I haven´t seen it until I made the pictures some minutes ago. So funny - if I wouldn´t have made pictures for this QAL maybe I never would have seen it ;-).

 

Diese Woche zeigen wir Euch die Blöcke 3 und 4. Ich habe gerade heute Abend meine beiden Blöcke mit meiner Retro-Stoffauswahl genäht. Als ich nun Fotos von diesen Blöcken und meinen bereits vorher genähten Weihnachtsblöcken geschossen habe, habe ich entdeckt, dass Block Nr. 4 "falsch" genäht ist. Ich habe im Inneren des Sterns die Stoffe vertauscht. Hätte ich für diesen QAL keine Fotos davon gemacht, wäre mir das wahrscheinlich nie aufgefallen ;-).

 

This is really cool, because you can just switsch some fparts with the fabrics in a block and you get a new design, just try it!

 

Das ist irgendwie auch cool, weil man nur ein paar Teile mit dem anderen Stoff nähen muss, um ein neues Design zu bekommen, probiert es einfach mal aus!
