MondayMakers ... Almost Christmas...

I made another block of Joannas - Sewing UnderRainbow "Last Minute Christmas Sampler QAL": Her Folk Snowflake! This is my absolutly most loved block ever. It Comes together so elegant and smooth... I love it... But in m,y euphoria I made a mistake I only saw after I made a picture and posted it on IG.

Ich habe noch einen von Joannas - Sewing Under Rainbow "Last Minute Christmas Sampler QAL" Blöcke genäht: Den Folk Snowflake. Das ist mein absoluter Lieblingsblock... so elegant und so geschmeidig... Ich liebe ihn... Aber in meiner Euphorie habe ich einen Fehler gemacht, den ich erst auf dem Bild gesehen habe, nachdem ich es schon bei IG eingestellt hatte.

Your comments were so sweet... some of you even refused to look for the mistake :). I repaired it, so let´s see, if you can notice it. Here some help: it´s one of the red leaves... I couldn´t let it this way, so I ripped of the main seam and the horizontal seam to sew in some Background fabric and closed the holes again :). You can bet, that I was so glad, that this worked!

Eure Kommentare waren so süß.. einige von Euch haben sich sogar geweigert, den Fehler zu suchen :). Aber kein Problem mehr, ich habe ihn repariert, also mal sehen, ob ihr ihn findet. Hier ein wenig Hilfe: es ist eines der roten Blätter... Ich konnte nicht anders, als es zu beheben, also habe ich die Hauptnaht und eine horizontale Naht aufgetrennt und ein wenig von dem Hintergrundstoff dagegen genäht und die "Löcher" wieder gestopft :). Da könnt ihr aber einen drauf lassen, dass ich froh bin, dass das funktioniert hat!

And then I got the best swapping item of the whole swap for me!!! This gorgeous bag is made by Kris - Zaynoo. It´s me and her in one Piece - thank you so much for this so Special and unique bag. Made me so happy :))))).

Und dann habe ich auch noch das beste Swappingteil des gesamten Swaps bekommen!!! Diese grandiose Tasche hat Kris - Zaynoo für mich genäht. Das sind Sie und ich in einem Stück - vielen Dank für diese so besondere einzigartige Tasche. Bin voll glücklich damit :)))).

Well, that´s not the end of last week. I finished this logcabin top of this custom order baby quilt yesterday night. The cutstomer needs it tomorrow in the afternoon (I work whole day) or on the 10th of January, and I thought I want to be ready with it before Christmas - so let´s see if I can finish it tonight.

Nun und das war noch nicht das Ende der letzten Woche. Ich habe gestern Nacht das Logcabin-Top füreinen Babyquilt einer Kundenbestellung fertig genäht. Entweder braucht man ihn morgen nachmittag (ich arbeite heute den ganzen Tag) oder erst am 10ten Januar. Ich hoffe, ich mach das Ding heute Abend fertig...

MondayMakers and christmas Sewing

Tada, I finished the table runner with the blocks 1 and 4 of Juliannas - Sewing Under Rainbow Last Minute Christmas Sampler QAL. This is so much fun to sew her gorgeous free paper-piecing-pattern. I hope to sew them all if I can find the time. The block in the middle I made last year, when I bought all These lovely Christmas fabrics. But I wasn´t in the mood to sew more Christmas stuff last year, so all the fabrics waited for this QAL :).

Tada, den Tischläufer mit den Blöcken 1 und 4 von Juliannas - Sewing Under Rainbow "Last Minute Christmas Sampler QAL". Es macht so einen Spaß, ihre genialen kostenlosen Paper-Piecing-Blöcke zu nähen. Ich hoffe, ich kann mir die Zeit abknapsen und alle Blöcke mitnähen. Den mittleren Block habe ich schon letztes Jahr genäht, als ich mir die ganzen schönen Weihnachtsstoffe gekauft habe, aber dann irgendwie keine Lust auf Weihnachtsnähen gehabt. Als ob die Stoffe auf diesen QAL gewartet haben :).

This wonderful snow flake block is also from this QAL... I already finished a mini quilt of.

Diese wunderschöne Schneeflocke ist auch aus dem QAL... Ich hab sie schön zu einem Deckchen fertig genäht.

Our Berlin Modern Quilt Guild Meeting yesterday was the perfect place and Moment to finish my blocks 2 and 3 of the QAL. Ich love our Meetings :).

Obsessive Christmas Sewing

I am totally in christmas sewing... some will be for our home and some will be for my craft fair soon. Since Julianna - Sewing Under Rainbow started her Last Minute Christmas Sampler QAL I am obsessed in sewing Christmas themes. I never had this before but I enjoy it so much now - so let´s capitalize this positive Christmas energy and go on...

Ich bin jetzt total im Weihnachtsnähen ... einiges wird für uns zu Hause sein und anderes für meinen Weihnachtsmarkt in Berlin/Frohnau. Seit Julianna - Sewing Under Rainbow ihren Last Minute Christmas Sampler QAL gestartet hat, bin ich ihm verfallen. Ich hatte noch nie so das richtige Gefühl für Weihnachtsnähen, aber jetzt gerade. Diese positive Energie sollte ich besser ausnützen und weitermachen....

The Bell is block No. 2 and the Trees are No. 1..... all her paperpiecing patern are free - you should try them, Julianna is genious!

Die Glocke ist der zweite Block und die Bäume sind der erste aus der Paper-Piecing-Reihe von Julianna, die alle kostenlos heruntergeladen werden können - sie ist echt genial!

How is your chrstimas sewing going on? Just wanted to warn you - the nexts posts will have lots of Christmas stuff here ;-). Have a great first Advent.

MondayMakers meet Purse Palooza

Today it´s my turn on the Purse Palooza Blog Hop 2014 and I am totally flattered that Sara from SewSweetness asked me to participate. Of course I said YES immediately. And in this moment I already knew what bag I would make. Purse Palooza is a blog hop about bag pattern and you can find two reviews every weekday in October, see the schedule here.




Heute bin ich beim Purse Palooza Blog Hop 2014 dran und fühle mich sehr geschmeichelt, dass mich Sara von SewSweetness gefragt hat, ob ich mit mache. Na klar habe ich sofort JA gesagt. Ich wusste auch gleich, welche Tasche ich nähen würde. Purse Palooza ist ein Blog Hop, der sich nur um Taschen dreht und es werden jeden Werktag im Oktober zwei Taschen vorgestellt, den Zeitplan findet ihr hier.



I have chosen the Poolside Tote from Anna by Noodlehead, because I needed a big bag for sports and shopping for ME and when I saw her pattern, I really wanted to make one. I finished the bag two weeks ago and it is in use every day since then. Read my review on Saras (SewSweetness) Blog and here you go with some pictures of my bag :).
Edit: The US is still sleeping, so my Review will be out in a couple of hours ;-).


Ich hab mir die Poolside Tote from Anna by Noodlehead ausgesucht, weil ich unbedingt eine große Sport- und Einkaufstasche brauchte und außerdem wollte ich mir diese Tasche eh nähen seit ich sie das erst Mal gesehen habe. Meinen Bericht über diese Tasche könnt ihr heute im Laufe des Tage bei Sara auf ihrem Blog sehen. Die Amis schlafen ja noch, daher erst in ein paar Stunden online :).

Well and I had a busy sewing weekend and finished a secret Project for the German traditional Patchwork Guild for the christmas Edition of their monthly Magazine. I will show you the whole thing in December were you can get a free pp-template for it.

Nun, ich war dieses Wochenende sehr näh-geschäftig und habe ein geheimes Projekt für die Weihnachstausgabe der Monatszeitschrift der Patchworkgilde fertiggestellt - es ist so schön geworden und man kann es im Dezember dann sehen und auch nähen - die kostenlose pp-Vorlage gibt's dann bei mir.

WOW, and another secret project is coming at the End of October. This is a far far out of my comfort zone project and I am so happy about the result, but here you also see only a sneak peek ;-).

WOW, und noch ein geheimes Projekt für Oktober. Das ist so weit außerhalb meiner Wohlfühlzone und ich bin so glücklich, wie toll es geworden ist - hier also nur ein Teaser ;-).

Puh, AND I could finish all my bee blocks for this month. Glad about that. The first blocks you see is for Sandi - the Queenie Bee and this block Looks so easy but it really isn´t, if you want the perfect size and perfect block. I would recommend this always to sew on paper. The second is for the Bee Germany for D. from Sternwerfer. I love the fabrics she sent - what a lovely block. So curious about the whole quilt. The third is for Franziska from Kreatives in Mir. from xxx. She is the queen bee of Fleißige Beenchen this month and coincidental she sent also Denyse Schmidt fabrics. That was a good evening for my fabric loving eyes :).

Puh, UND ich habe alle Bee Blöcke genäht, so cool! Die ersten sind für Sandi von der Quennie Bee und sehen total einfach aus, aber die haben mich echt Nerven gekostet. Falls ich die jemals wieder nähe, dann nur auf Papier - irgendwo fehlte immer ein Millimeter - ätzend. Die zweiten sind für die Bee Germany für D. von Sternwerfer. Die Stoffauswahl ist eine echte Augenweide, bin schon auf den ganzen Quilt gespannt. Und die Blöcke für meine dritte Bee, die Fleißigen Beenchen sind für Franziska von Kreatives in Mir - auch schöne Denyse Schmidt Stoffe - es war eine Wohltat für meine stoffliebenden Augen :).

The Story behind my Christmas Snowflake in Spring / Die Story zu meinem Weihnachtsstern im Frühling

 

Just in case you are wondering, why the hell is she making a christmas snow flake in the middle of spring, I will tell you here and now :).

Nur falls ihr euch wundert, warum um Himmels Willen näht sie mitten im Frühling einen Weihnachtsstern, dann will ich es euch gleich hier und jetzt verraten :).

There is a very talented German Lady called Lizinnie on flickr. Well, she had this idea of a project for one year, where a bunch of Ladies come together and be creative. It´s called "Zaungucker" which means, that you always shoud come out of your comfortzone and look in directions you wouldn´t normally. The members of this project are not all sewing, some are making poems, others paint other that fotos.... Every two month there will be a theme (we could through themes in the pot at the beginning) and you just see how you get inspired by this.

Da ist diese super talentierte Frau, die sich auf Flickr Lizinnie nennt. Nun, sie hatte da so eine Idee von einem einjährigen Projekt wo eine Gruppe kreativer Leute zusammenkommen. Sie nennt es "Zaungucker", was so viel meint, wie auch mal über den Tellerrand hinweg zu schauen. Die Mitglieder dieses Projekts nähen nicht alle, manche dichten, andere malen oder fotographieren... Alle zwei Monate gibt es ein Thema (wir konnten anfangs Themen in einen Topf werfen) und dann mal sehen, wie einen die Muse so küsst.

The theme of March/April was "The three Magi", yes, you´ve read right. Christmas was over, spring was coming and I was totally in panic with this theme. I talked about this with my collegue who had an brilliant idea: Play with the skin colors. From that moment I exactly knew what to do. Take this wonderful Christmas Snowflake by Rachel and make it in brouwn tones and in the middle there will be a gift. Three magis and Jesus and the gift. That´s my input for this theme and I am very happy about the result.

Das Thema für März/April war "Die heiligen drei Könige", ja, ihr habt richtig gelesen. Weihnachten war gerade vorbei, der Frühling war am kommen und ich hatte totale Panik vor diesem Thema. Ich hatte mich darüber mit meiner Kollegin unterhalten, die meinte: Spiel doch mit der Hautfarbe der Könige. Da wusste ich dann sofort, was ich machen werde. Nimm diesen tollen Christmas Snowflake von Rachel und nähe es in Brauntönen mit einem Geschenk in der Mitte. Die heiligen drei Könige, Jesus und ein Geschenk. Das ist nun mein Beitrag dazu und ich bin super glücklich mit dem Ergebnis.

We had already one theme and I am very disappointed about my result, but I will show it tot you anyway. The them was "2", just two. I had no idea and so I just came up with this sad mini. 

Wir hatten schon ein Thema davor, aber ich bin hier echt enttäuscht über mein Ergebnis, will es euch aber nicht vorenthalten. Das Thema war "2", einfach zwei. Ich hatte überhaupt kein Idee und so habe diesen traurigen Mini gemacht.

 

Let´s see what the other made with "The three Magi" - maybe I can show you some results, I will aks. And I am very curious about the next theme.

Mal sehen, was den anderen zum Thema "Die heiligen drei Könige" eingefallen ist, vielleich darf ich was zeigen, ich werde mal fragen. Und ich bin natürlich total neugierig auf da nächste Thema.

Christmas Mini Table Runner finished

My WIP- and To-Do-list from the beginning of October is getting smaller and smaller - It is really a good Feeling!

Meine WIP- und To-Do-Liste, die ich Anfang Oktober aufgestellt habe, wird immer kürzer und kürzer - das ist ein echt gutes Gefühl!

Yesterday Evening I could finally finish my mini christmas table runner. I started it last year and it should have beeb laying on our table then, but better late than never it is going to brighten up our second advent.

Gestern Abend habe ich endlich meine kleines Weihnachtstischdeckchen fertig bekommen, dass unseren Tisch schon letztes Weihnachten zieren sollte. Nun wird es pünktlich zum zweiten Advent zum Einsatz kommen - besser spät als nie.

Das ist ein tolles und wunderschönes Muster und die Anleitung dafür findet ihr hier. Man kann sogar beide Seiten auslegen.

It´s getting better and better... The Long Terms are beautiful projects and take their time and I love them all, so I have no worries to finish them some time.

Es wird besser und besser. Die Langzeitprojekte sind wunderschon und brauchen ihre Zeit und ich liebe sie alle, hier habe ich also keine Sorge, dass die nicht irgendwann fertig werden.
