Pillow on the Cover

When I was asked to write an easy pattern for the patchwork Magazine PATCHWORK SPEZIAL EASY I was a bit afraid. Don´t understand me wrong - I love simple pattern, but I see me run riot (hope this is the right English word) in more complicated patterns. It was quiet a challenge but then I had this idea in making hearts.... seams to be very popular at the moment :). I got these beautiful fabrics called Figures by Zen Chic from QUILT ET TEXTILKUNST, a quiltshop in Munich, Germany. The pillows look so fresh with those fabrics

Als ich gefragt wurde, ob ich eine einfache Anleitung für die PATCHWORK SPEZIAL EASY schreiben würde, hatte ich echt ein wenig Angst davor. Versteht mich nicht falsch, ich liebe einfache Muster, aber ich merke, dass ich bei meinen Anleitungen immer ausschweife ;-). Es war eine Herausforderung, aber dann hatte ich die Idee für Herzige Angelegenheiten, Herzen sind ja gerade voll in... Mit den schönen Stoffen von Zen Chic aus der Serie Figures, die mir QUILT ET TEXTILKUNST aus München zur Verfügung gestellt hat, sehen die Kissen so schön frisch aus.

Ich habs sogar auf den Titel gebracht!

By the way... I am working on a new pattern which will be released mid/end of August. Lots of different blocks making a beautiful Christmas quilt :). So stay tuned.

Außerdem bin ich gerade dabei, eine Anleitung mit ganz vielen tollen Blöcken für einen wunderschönen Weihnachtsquilt zu schreiben :) bleibt also online. Falls ihr diesen Quilt in Ruhe nähen wollt, macht doch mit bei meinem Workshop im November... Infos hier und auf Anfrage via mail.

And at the end I will Show you the orange blocks of my newest Bee (made by my bee mates).... This is a fantastic Group with so many lovely and talented Ladies. Have a look over at flickr to see all the different bubbles. You can find my Bubbles pattern here on craftsy and there is a second bee starting in January ... I think they have some spots left.

Und am Ende zeige ich Euch noch die orangenen Blöcke aus meiner neusten Bee (genäht von meinen Bee-Kumpels)... Das ist eine grandiose Gruppe mit tollen und talentierten Frauen. Schaut doch mal bei Flickr vorbei, um all die buten Bubbles zu sehen. Die Bubbles-Anleitung dazu bekommt ihr auf Dawanda oder Craftsy. No MondayMakers, 2 Winner, a quick Pillow with some Obstacles and my new Selvage Project

My daughter was invited to the confirmation of her best friend. What an excitement. What to wear and what to make a gift... Lots of questions, gladly the wearing Thing was clear very fast, but the present was not easy. Nothing was good enough or pleased. At the end she decided a pillow would be great - 2 days before the date!!! Why should you decide earlier, Mummy will do ;-). She told me, it should look like a drop, picked up the Colors and told me how she wanted it to be quilted. Backside some secret letters (from EQ7). She went to bed and I started.

Meine Tochter war auf der Konfirmation ihrer besten Freundin eingeladen. Was für eine Aufregung. Was anziehen, was schenken. Viele Fragen, glücklicherweise war das mit dem Anziehen schnell geklärt, aber kein Geschenk war gut oder originell genug. Also entschied sie sich 2 Tage vor der Feier doch für ein Kissen. Warum sollte man das auch früher entscheiden, Mama macht das schon ;-). Sie wollte etwas in Tropfenform, suchte die Stoffe aus und erklärte mir genau, wie das gequiltet werden soll. Auf der Rückseite noch ein paar geheimnisvolle Buchstaben (die ich aus EQ7 habe). Sie ging ins Bett und ich legte los.

While quilting I got mad. I never had this problem before. I posted this picture on IG (Instagram) and screamed for help. You are all so great. I did all you recommended to me.. .same thread on both sides, new needle, clean the machine, take a backside instead of sewing only with the Interface, but at the end it was the tense of my thread that caused this damage. Finally I could finish it ....and my daughter was so happy at the next morning - of course: happy mom :).

Während des Quiltens bin ich fast verrückt geworden. Ich hatte so ein Problem noch nie zuvor. Ich habe dieses Bild auf IG (Instagram) geposted und um Hilfe geschrien. Ihr seid klasse. Ich habe alle Empfehlungen befolgt: den gleichen Faden unten und oben, neue Nadel, Maschine säubern, auf der Rückseite einen Stoffe verwenden und nicht auf purem Vlies nähen... aber am Ende war es die Fadenspannung, die diesen Schaden verursacht hat. Bin ich froh, dass ich das am Ende fertig bekommen habe... und meine Tochter war am nächsten Morgen glücklich - natürlich die Mama auch :).

If you want to sew this too, it´s quick and easy if you know how to make drunkhardspaths. Use any size you like. You only need to trim down to 1/4 Inch seam... see picture.

Wenn ihr das auch Nähen wollt, ist es sehr einfach und schnell. Egal welche Größe. Man muss nur das Quadrat runtertrimmen, so dass am Kreisrand nur noch die Nahtzugabe (hier 1/4 Inch) bleibt... siehe Zeichnung.

And here it comes. my newest longterm selvage project. I really love working with selvages. Thanks to the Ladies who gave me some of their selvages :). That makes it possible to me to make such beautiful things.

Und hier kommt mein neuestes Langzeitprojekt mit Webkanten. Ich liebe es, mit Webkanten zu nähen. Danke an die Mädels, die mir Webkanten geschenkt haben :). Das macht es mir möglich, so was schönes zu machen.

Bubbles - A Quilt Pattern

I am so happy about my newest quilt pattern. It´s called Bubbles and some of you have seen the process already and lots of WIP Pictures ;-), but now the pattern is finished and available on Payhip and on Dawanda (for German residents only) or write me a mail.

Ich bin so glücklich mit meiner neuen Quiltanleitung. Sie heißt Bubbles und einige von Euch habe unzählige Bilder aus dem Entstehungsprozess gesehen ;-), aber nun ist die Anleitung fertig und auf Payhip und Dawanda eingestellt (nur für in Deutschland Ansässige) - natürlich könnt ihr mich auch gern anschreiben, wenn ihr auf Dawanda kein Konto habt.

I am sure, I have to make more bubbles... ;-).

MondayMakers and some Bee-Blocks

Well, I am not totally recoverd from my bad cold and so I didn´t sew much during the last week, but yesterday I had a run and finished almost all my Bee-Blocks for November until February... Yes I was late with some of them, but of course I appologized early :), but shame on me.

Nun, ich bin noch nicht ganz die Alte nach dieser blöden Erkältung, so dass ich letzte Woche nicht viel genäht habe. Dafür hatte ich aber gestern einen Lauf und habe fast alle Bee-Blöcke für November bis Februar fertig genäht. Ja, ich hatte mich vorher entschuldigt, dass ich spät sein würde :), ist mir aber trotzdem peinlich.

This weeding ring is for the Bee Germany November for Jona & Lili. She sent us her fabrics and templates to sew this gorgeous blocks.

Andrea from Quiltmanufaktur asked for a crazy logcabin and sent us stripes - Fleißige Beenchen for February.

This block is called Rossets and was asked by May - Confessions of a Fabraholic. She sent us her fabrics and the instructions for this fuzzy block and now I finished my January block for Fleißige Beenchen.

These Jelly on Point Blocks are for Susanne from Stoffbreite from her latest pattern für Bee Germany February.

MondayMakers and still working on my bubbles

Bubbles, bubbles and bubbles.... I even dream bubbles.... all the living room is full of them ;-). I think I really have to finish this top and the patter quick!!!

Bubbles, Bubbles und noch mehr Bubbles... Ich träum sogar schon von Bubbles.... das ganze Wohnzimmer ist voll von ihnen ;-). I denke, ich sollte mal schnell mit dem Top und der Anleitung fertig werden!!!

I finally finished my last bubble at the monthly Meeting of the Berlin Modern Quilt Guild where my orange bubble met his orange / Aqua bubble-friends made by makatrin :).

Ich habe dann endlich den letzten Bubble bei unserem Monatstreffen der Berlin Modern Quilt Guild fertig genäht, wo es auf Bubble-Freunde in orange-Türkis von makatrin getroffen hat :).

MondayMakers and more Bubbles....

I didn´t have much sewing time last week, so I could only pick up the fabrics for my next bubbles and sew three bubbles Saturday night. So sorry, that it takes much more time as I thought to finish the pattern, but I hope to finish it next Weekend :).

Ich hatte letzte Woche nicht so viel Zeit zum Nähen und habe erstmal die Stoffe für die nächsten Bubbles rausgesucht und wenigstens 3 neue Samstag Nacht genäht. So blöd, dass ich mehr Zeit brauche für die Anleitung, als gedacht, aber vielleicht schaffe ich das übers nächste Wochenende :).

2015 Finish-Along - Q1 List

You got me!

I have so many WIP´s in my cupboard and ideas in my head, that I hope, a To Do List will help to get this all clearer.  I will only list the WIPs or plans for Q1, I think, I can really do! Otherwise I will be to stressed. So here it goes for Q1:

Ihr habt mich!

Ich habe so viele WIP´s (Work in Progress = Projekte in Arbeit) und so viele Ideen in meinem Kopf, dass ich hoffe, dass eine To-Do-Liste mir hilft, das alles in geordnete Bahnen zu lenken. Ich werde mir nur Dinge für das I. Quartal vornehmen, die ich auch schaffen kann, sonst stehe ich die ganze Zeit unter Freizeitstress. Also dann mal los für Q1:

1. Kaleidoscope QAL - Quilt

Started / Angefangen: 25th June 2011

Top finished / Top fertiggestellt: 11th July 2011

Basted / Sandwich erstellt: 20th July 2011

Oh my Gosh - I made this top in 16!!! days and couldn´t finish the quilting until now - it´s a shame. I really want to restart handquilting this to finish it before it gets 4 years old!!!

Auweia - ich habe das Top in 16!!! Tagen fertig genäht und habe es bisher nicht geschafft es fertig zu quilten - eine Schande. Ich will wirklich endlich wieder loslegen mit dem Handquilten, damit das Teil vor seinem 4ten Geburtstag fertig wird!!!

2. Bubbles

I really want to finish this top and quilt in Q1 and publish the pattern even in January. It takes a bit more time than I thought to make 20 circles :).

Ich will das Top und den Quilt in Q1 fertig bekommen und die Anleitung noch im Januar herausgeben. Es dauert dann doch ein wenig länger als gedacht, 20 Kreise zu nähen :).



3. Trying to make a PP-Pattern with a Basketball

I want to try to make a paper piecing pattern of a Basketball to make a pouch with it for my daughters next important tournament. Let´s see, if I can make it.

Ich werden versuchen, eine Paper-Piecing-Vorlage für einen Basketball zu nähen für einen Kulturbeutel für meine Tochter, die bald ein wichtiges Turnier hat. Mal sehen, ob ich das schaffe.

4. Motivate my Daugher to sew at least 6 blocks in Q1

Let´s see if I can motivate my daughter in all her busy young life to go on with her Tula Pink City Sampler blocks.

Mal sehen, ob ich meine Tochter in ihrem jungen geschäftigen Leben motivieren kann, weiter an Ihrem Tula Pink City Sampler Quilt zu nähen.

First MondayMakers in 2015

Hope you got all nicely in the new year - this will be a good one, I feel it :).

Hoffe, ihr seid alle gut ins neue Jahr gekommen, das wird ein gutes, ich fühle es :).

I was busy in sewing, but not too much. And all of my sewings are quiet secret so I can only Show you some sneak peeks like the start of my new quilt pattern Bubbles above and my new epp pattern for the next edition of Fat Quarterly - the modern quilting e-zine in February.

Ich war über die Tage beschäftigt mit nähen, aber nicht zu sehr.
