Well, I saw a professional pouch like this at my sister in law and asked her if I could take this with me to sew it.... as soon as I arrived I had to try it. It´s kind of easy to sew but a little laborious (hope this is the right word ;-)) - so I will have a look, if I can find a more simple way to sew it. I call it the "2zipper5pockets-pouch". As I showed it on IG someone told me, she saw this pattern somewhere but couldn´t remember. Again my sewing and creating philosophy is the write thing so say here: Nothing is really new :).

Nun, als ich dieses Täschchen bei meiner Schwägerin sah, musste ich sie mitnehmen und nachnähen. Kaum zu Hause, war sie auch schon fertig. Sie ist zwar recht einfach zu nähen, aber umständlich. Ich muss mal schauen, ob man das nicht auch einfacher hinbekommt. Als ich das Bild auf IG zeigte, schrieb jemand, dass sie diese Art von Tasche schon mal gesehen hätte, wusste aber nicht, bei wem. Da fällt mir immer wieder meine Näh- und Kreativ-Philosophie ein: Nichts ist wirklich neu :).

To sew with waxed Cloth is not my favorite. Any suggestions how to sew it to get it more slippy?

Mit Wachstuch zu nähen ist nicht gerade das, was ich besonders mag. Habt ihr Vorschläge, wie man das Wachstuch ein wenig geschmeidiger durch die Nähmaschine bekommt?

Then I tried it with lining and fabric.... It works, but I have to find a better way to sew the zippers ;-).

Und dann habe ich mit Futter und Stoff versucht... Ich muss unbedingt einen Weg finden, um die Reißverschlüsse besser einzunähen ;-).

MondayMakers and a Basketball

Oh my, I am again or still hanging around with my cold.... I had a kid-free weekend with lots of plans also for sewing, but I layed on the sofa and tried to get rid of this cold. The only think I could manage last week is this basketball washbag for my Girl for her quite important and successful weekend. It turned out huge but I love it. She was very happy about her new bag :).

On man, ich hänge hier immer noch oder wieder herum mit meiner fetten Erkältung... ich hatte ein kinderfreies WE und viele Pläne auch für´s Nähen, aber statt dessen habe ich die meiste Zeit auf dem Sofa verbracht und versucht, endlich fit zu werden. Das einzige, was ich zu nähen geschafft habe, war der Kulturbeutel für meine Tochter, die ein recht wichtiges und erfolgreiches WE hatte. Er ist ganz schön groß geworden, aber ich find ihn genial und meine Tochter ist auch voll glücklich über Ihren neuen Beutel :).

Sooo many different sewing project ....

Ok, maybe you´ve seen my lovely miniquilt already, but the binding is new on it. Unfortunately I forgot to make a goog Picture before I sent it far far away to it´s new owner. Hope my SewSewModern Swap Partner loves it half as much as I do. This is the wonkiest Thing I ever made, but still one of my favorites. I had to wash it, because it took me a while to finish it and while laying here and there it got some dirt parts, but now it´s clean and beautiful.

Ok, vielleicht habt ihr meine süßen Miniquilt schon besehen, aber das Binding ist neu. Leider habe ich vergessen, ein richtiges Foto zu machen, bevor ich es auf die lange Reise geschickt habe zum neuen Besitzer. Hoffe, dass meine SewSewModern Swap Partnerin das Ding wenigstens halb so doll mag wie ich. Das ist das mit Abstand schiefste, was ich je genäht habe und gehört zu meinen absoluten Lieblingen. Ich musste es nochmal waschen, da es durch das viele hin und her und die Dauer des Projektes doch an der einen oder anderen Stelle ein wenig schmutzig geworden war. Nun ist es aber sauber und schön.

This swap requires a small item too and so I decided to make a sleepingbag pouch with an origami boat - pattern by RightPatterns. I think at the latest here my Partner should know it´s for her :).

Dieser Swap verlangt noch ein kleine Teil und ich habe mich entschieden ein Schlafsäckchenmäppchen mit einem Origami Boot von RightPatterns drauf zu nähen. Ich glaube spätestens jetzt weiß meine Partnerin, dass es für sie ist :).

And my daughter made some real Progress with her Citysampler blocks for the German QAL Tula Pink City Sampler. She really finished the first chapter and to be honest, I didn´t believe, she would make them all in time - great respect and lots of pround in me :).

Und meine Tochter hat noch mal eine Menge Blöcke für den Citysampler für den German QAL Tula Pink City Sampler genäht. Sie hat echt das erste Kapitel geschafft und um ehrlich zu sein, habe ich nicht damit gerechnet, dass die Blöcke rechtzeitig fertig werden - großer Respekt und Stolz meinerseits :).

Here are alle her first 15 blocks together. Next Monday it´s my turn to present her blocks 16 and 17 on a Kind of blog hop of this QAL. Here I will also Show, how to make this Little movie to let the blocks float in the Picture - stay tuned!

Hier sind die ersten 15 Blöcke zusammen. Nächsten Montag bin ich dran, die Blöcke 16 und 17 meiner Tochter für den QAL zu präsentieren. Ich zeige Euch auch, wie ich das mit dem Filmchen gemacht habe, wo die Blöcke ins Bild reinfliegen - bliebt also dran!

Well, this bee block is too late. I feel really bad about this, but I am only half way guilty. This bee changed from flickr to Facebook in the middle of the bee and I am not on Facebook. So they forgot to post the Facts for June on flickr and I forgot to ask. I don´t know where the June went -  the time ran so fast, it´s frightening. I love this block called liberated wedding ring (tutorial here) - fun to make on on my personal todo-list now.

Nun, dieser Block ist zu spät. Ich fühl mich echt schlecht hierbei, aber ich habe nur halb Schuld. Diese Bee ist von Flickr zu Facebook umgezogen und ich bin nicht mitgegangen. Man hat also vergessen, einen Post bei Flickr einzustellen und ich habe vergessen, nachzufragen. Der Juni ist aber auch davon gerannt, Wahnsinn. Ich liebe diesen Block - Lieberated Wedding Ring - die Anleitung dazu findet ihr hier.  Der steht auf jeden Fall auf meiner To-Do-Liste.

Yes, I made lots of sleepingbag pouches because they can we bought in a shop in Berlin from August at the Hackesche Höfe, which is a real cool Destination in Berlin - hope it will work well.

Ja, ich habe ein paar Schlafsäckchenmäppchen genäht, weil ihr diese ab August in einem Laden in den Hackeschen Höfen kaufen könnt, was eine echt coole Location in Berlin ist - hoffe, es funktioniert gut.

Selvedge Love / Verliebt in Webkanten

If I am in the mood to sew, but have not the energy to think too much, I sew QAYG- or selvedge pouches. This is so satisfying. Making something our of scraps and selvedges is perfect. So I made some panels one evening and finished the pouches the next evening.

Wenn ich Lust habe zu nähen, aber mein Energiedepot nicht gut gefüllt ist, dann nähe ich gern QAYG- oder Webkantentäschchen. Die gehen immer. Nähen aus Resten und Webkanten ist einfach perfekt und befriedigend. Also habe ich an dem einen Abend die Panele für die Täschchen genäht und am anderen diese vollendet.

Now I have 5 more pouches to sell on my market at the end of the month. Maybe only 4, the blue one makes it hard to part with.... so maybe I keep this one.

Nun habe ich weitere 5 Täschchen für den Markt Ende des Monats. Naja, vielleicht auch nur 4, denn das blaue hat es mir echt angetan, weiß nicht, ob ich mich davon trennen kann.

Tutorial endless zipper pouch / Anleitung Endlosreißverschluss-Täschchen :
 
In case you don´t win, just make your own endless zipper pouch. Just let me tell you, that this is of course nothing new, but I was asked if I could write down a quick tutorial about this endless-zipper-thing.

Falls ihr nicht gewonnen habt, könnt ihr euch eure eigene Endlosreißverschluss-Tasche machen. Lasst mich nur vorweg klarstellen, dass diese Methode nichts Neues ist, aber ich von einigen gefragt wurde, ob ich da mal schnell eine Anleitung zu dieser Endlosreißverschluss-Sache schreiben könnte.
 
You have to think about the size of your pouch - I show you the tutorial with the size of mine, but you can make it with any size:

Ihr müsst Euch Gedanken machen über eure gewünschte Täschchengröße - die Anleitung wir in einer Größe durchgeführt und kann auf jeder übertragen werden: 

Material:
 
main fabric / Hauptstoff: (can be Patchwork, QAYG or just plane fabric) 2 panels 9x8 inch or 1 panel 17,5 x 8 Inch
(kann gepatched, QAYG oder einfach nur Stoff sein) 2 Panele 9x9 inch oder 1 Panel 17,5 x 9 Inch

lining fabric / Innenfutter: 1 panel 17,5 x 8 Inch

batting / Innenfutter: 2 panels 9x8 inch or 1 panel 17,5 x 8 Inch

end endless zipper and zipper pull / Endlosreißverschluss und Schieber: 17,5 Inch + 6 inch = 22,5 Inch - it should be always 6 Inch longer than any size your pouch is going to be - better longer than shorter.
17,5 Inch + 6 inch = 22,5 inch - er sollte immer 6 Inch länger sein als die obere Seitenlänge, egal wir groß die Tasche sein soll - lieber länger statt kürzer.

Seam allowance / Nahtzugabe: 1/4 inch
 
In my case I ´ve chosen the option of making 2 9x9 panels, because I like it better for QAYG. Those 2 panels will be sewn together to get one panel 17,5 x 9 inch.

In meinem Fall habe ich die 2-Panel-Variante gewählt, da ich QAYG nicht gern mit großen Teilen nähe. Die beiden Panele werden dann an der Seite zusammen genäht und ergeben dann ein 17,5 x 9 Inch Panel.  

Mark the middle of the zipper and the middle of your 17,5 inch wide panel. Mark also inch on each of the ends of the panel. Then pin the middle of the panel and zipper together and pin the ends of the zipper foating down at the 1 Inch mark. Sew the zipper very close on the edge of the main fabric to fix the zipper.
 
Markiert die Mitte des Reißverschlusses und die Mitte des Panels. Außerdem noch an beiden Enden des Panels jeweils 1 Inch vom Rand markieren. Dann Reißverschluss in der Mitte fest stecken und an den beiden 1 Inch-Rändern die Reißverschlussenden nach unten auslaufen lassen. Der Reißverschluss wird dicht am Rand angenäht und somit fixiert.

Then lay your lining and main fabric right side to right side and sew them together.

Dann werden Innen- und Außenstoff rechts auf rechts gelegt und am Reißverschluss zusammen genäht.

Sew the sides together, be careful, that the zipper ends are inside and will not be sewn. Close your bottom as you always do with pouches... this is how make it....

Die Seitennaht schließen und damit aufpassen, dass die Reißverschlussenden nicht in die Naht rutschen. Den Boden wie immer beim Täschchen schließen... hier seht ihr, wie ich das mache...

Topstich the pouch around the zipper.

Den oberen Rand absteppen.

Put in the zipper pull (hope this is the right worde) and sew the end of it, so you cannot pull it out by accident. There lots of ways to do so, so try to find your way... you tube helps here too. Close the zipper to see, if the pull is on the right place, if not, take the pull out and try it again!

Den Schieber reinfummeln und am Ende zu nähen, damit der Schieber nicht wieder rausrutschen kann. Es gibt unterschiedliche Wege, den Schieber einzuschieben, versucht euren Weg zu finden.... you tube kann hier helfen. Den Reißverschluss schließen und schauen, ob der Schieber am Ende gerade sitzt, sonst nochmal versuchen!

Sew a little zipper-holder and pull it over the zipper end and sew it. Lots of ways to do the zipper end... this is my way... Mine is 2x3 Inch.

Am Ende braucht man noch ein Endstück für den Reißverschluss. Es gibt viele Wege dafür, hier meiner...Meins ist 2*3 Inch groß.

Here you go with your finished endless zipper pouch :-).
