Today it´s my turn on the Purse Palooza Blog Hop 2014 and I am totally flattered that Sara from SewSweetness asked me to participate. Of course I said YES immediately. And in this moment I already knew what bag I would make. Purse Palooza is a blog hop about bag pattern and you can find two reviews every weekday in October, see the schedule here.




Heute bin ich beim Purse Palooza Blog Hop 2014 dran und fühle mich sehr geschmeichelt, dass mich Sara von SewSweetness gefragt hat, ob ich mit mache. Na klar habe ich sofort JA gesagt. Ich wusste auch gleich, welche Tasche ich nähen würde. Purse Palooza ist ein Blog Hop, der sich nur um Taschen dreht und es werden jeden Werktag im Oktober zwei Taschen vorgestellt, den Zeitplan findet ihr hier.



I have chosen the Poolside Tote from Anna by Noodlehead, because I needed a big bag for sports and shopping for ME and when I saw her pattern, I really wanted to make one. I finished the bag two weeks ago and it is in use every day since then. Read my review on Saras (SewSweetness) Blog and here you go with some pictures of my bag :).
Edit: The US is still sleeping, so my Review will be out in a couple of hours ;-).


Ich hab mir die Poolside Tote from Anna by Noodlehead ausgesucht, weil ich unbedingt eine große Sport- und Einkaufstasche brauchte und außerdem wollte ich mir diese Tasche eh nähen seit ich sie das erst Mal gesehen habe. Meinen Bericht über diese Tasche könnt ihr heute im Laufe des Tage bei Sara auf ihrem Blog sehen. Die Amis schlafen ja noch, daher erst in ein paar Stunden online :).

Well and I had a busy sewing weekend and finished a secret Project for the German traditional Patchwork Guild for the christmas Edition of their monthly Magazine. I will show you the whole thing in December were you can get a free pp-template for it.

Nun, ich war dieses Wochenende sehr näh-geschäftig und habe ein geheimes Projekt für die Weihnachstausgabe der Monatszeitschrift der Patchworkgilde fertiggestellt - es ist so schön geworden und man kann es im Dezember dann sehen und auch nähen - die kostenlose pp-Vorlage gibt's dann bei mir.

WOW, and another secret project is coming at the End of October. This is a far far out of my comfort zone project and I am so happy about the result, but here you also see only a sneak peek ;-).

WOW, und noch ein geheimes Projekt für Oktober. Das ist so weit außerhalb meiner Wohlfühlzone und ich bin so glücklich, wie toll es geworden ist - hier also nur ein Teaser ;-).

Puh, AND I could finish all my bee blocks for this month. Glad about that. The first blocks you see is for Sandi - the Queenie Bee and this block Looks so easy but it really isn´t, if you want the perfect size and perfect block. I would recommend this always to sew on paper. The second is for the Bee Germany for D. from Sternwerfer. I love the fabrics she sent - what a lovely block. So curious about the whole quilt. The third is for Franziska from Kreatives in Mir. from xxx. She is the queen bee of Fleißige Beenchen this month and coincidental she sent also Denyse Schmidt fabrics. That was a good evening for my fabric loving eyes :).

Puh, UND ich habe alle Bee Blöcke genäht, so cool! Die ersten sind für Sandi von der Quennie Bee und sehen total einfach aus, aber die haben mich echt Nerven gekostet. Falls ich die jemals wieder nähe, dann nur auf Papier - irgendwo fehlte immer ein Millimeter - ätzend. Die zweiten sind für die Bee Germany für D. von Sternwerfer. Die Stoffauswahl ist eine echte Augenweide, bin schon auf den ganzen Quilt gespannt. Und die Blöcke für meine dritte Bee, die Fleißigen Beenchen sind für Franziska von Kreatives in Mir - auch schöne Denyse Schmidt Stoffe - es war eine Wohltat für meine stoffliebenden Augen :).

When I saw the bag Ulrike from Lieblingsdecke made two month ago, I wanted to try it. It is a Bernina pattern called Leather Strap Tote. It is a huge shopping bag or a great bag for the beach. I changed the way how the straps are put together with the bag itself, because the bag has no lining. I made a short lining at the top of the bag to hide the ends of the strap. So I needed no binding - this made the bag much easier and quicker to sew and for me it looks nicer too ;-).

Als ich die Tasche von Ulrike von Lieblingsdecke vor zwei Monaten sah, wollte ich sie unbedingt auch nähen. Es ist eine Anleitung von Bernina, die Leather Strap Tote. Es ist eine riesige Einkaufstasche oder auch ideal für den Strand. Ich habe nur die Art und Weise, wie der Henkel angenäht wurde geändert, ich mag es nicht, wenn man auf der Innenseite alles sieht. Ich hab einfach für den oberen Teil ein Futter dagegen genäht, was mir auch das Schrägband erspart hat. Außerdem finde ich, dass es so auch noch schöner aussieht ;-).

And I finally sewed my voile Loop scarfs - they came out beautiful... One of the loops found already an admirer, so maybe the first one is sold already, makes me very happy!

Außerdem habe ich dann endlich meine Voile Loops genäht - schön geworden.... Der eine Loop hat auch schon via Instagram Anklang und einen eventuellen Abnehmer gefunden, freut mich sehr!

Olws become a 241

I had some faux leather in eggplant and a beautiful organic cotton fabric with owls to become a 241 and a coordinating small origami bag, but unfortunately I am missing some parts to finish the bag... Hopefully I can buy the missing parts tomorrow....

Ich hatte Kunststoffleder in aubergine und einen schönen Biobaumwollstoff mit Eulen, um daraus eine 241 und eine passende kleine Origami Bag zu nähen. Leider fehlen mir für die Tasche die Schnallen... Hoffentlich kann ich die Teile morgen besorgen...

Big Challenge

Today I had a very special challenge to solve. My daughter is leaving to secondary school and I am a parents representative of her class and had to find a present for her teacher. Very fast I had the idea to make a tote with the kids where everybody stamps his name on a stripe and sews the stripe to the other. So I asked the teacher if she would give me her last hour this Friday and I was a bit excited to make this project with 25 children. First there should have been two more parents, but they cancelled it and I had to do this allone in one!!! hour. May daughter was fantastic, she managed the sewing with her classmates and I did the basting and ironing and calming down the kids. They had so much fun and were so happy and enthusiastic to sew themselves. Of course I prepared the spripes at home and finished the tote there too. Now I am so pleased with it, that I really want to keep it LOL.
Heute hatte ich eine ganz spezielle Aufgabe. Meine Tochter geht nach den Ferien auf´s Gymnasium und als Elternvertreter hatte ich die Aufgabe, ein Abschiedsgeschenk für ihre Lehrerin zu finden. Glücklicherweise hatte ich auch schnell eine Idee: einen Beutel, wo jeder seinen Namen auf einen Streifen druckt und ihn annäht. Ich habe einfach die Lehrerin gefragt, ob sie mir die letzte Stunde am Freitag überlässt, ich war ganz schön aufgeregt, das mit 25 Kindern durchzuziehen. Eigentlich sollten wir zu dritt sein, aber die beiden anderen hatten leider abgesagt, so dass ich das alleine in einer!!! Stunde machen mußte. Gut, dass meine Tochter schon genäht hat, sie hat den ganzen Nähpart mit ihren Mitschülern übernommen, so dass ich feststecken und bügeln konnte. Die Kinder hatten so einen Spaß und waren derart enthusiastisch, dass sie alleine nähen durften. Natürlich hatte ich die Streifen schon zu Hause vorgenäht und am Ende den Beutel auch zu Hause fertig gemacht. Jetzt bin ich so begeistert davon, dass ich ihn am Liebsten behalten möchte LOL.

Swap°pen auf Deutsch - My Four for One Tote

After a wonderful mothers-day-lunch with my family on an asparagus-farm the rain came over us so badly, that we all decided to leave after a short but great time :). At home my girl took a nap and so I could finish the tote for my Swap°pen auf Deutsch partner... I thought I will do that at night!

Nach einem wunderschönen Muttertags-Mittag auf einem Spargelhof überkam uns der Regen so gewaltig, dass wir entschieden, es bei kurz aber super zu belassen. Zu Hause machte meine Süße erstmal ein Nickerchen und ich konnte den Beutel für meine Swap°pen auf Deutsch Partnerin schon am Nachmittag, statt Abends fertig nähen!

I saw the pattern a couple of days ago at Amy - During Quite Time and I new that´s the right for my tote. So I draw the pattern on checked paper and made it with foundation paper piecing. And the lining is from my beloved Amy Butlers Night Tree in Lime Peel!!! It´s reversible - of course ;-)
Das Muster habe ich vor einigen Tagen bei Amy - During Quite Time gesehen und ich wußte, das wird´s für meinen Beutel. Schnell war das Muster aufgemalt und ich habe es als Foundation Paper Piecing genäht. Und das Futter ist von meinem geliebten Amy Butlers Night Tree in Lime Peel-Stoff!!! Er ist beidseitig nutzbar - natürlich ;-)

Vintage-Zakka-Style Totes

Yesterday I really wanted to make some letters for my Proverbial QAL, but unfortunately I coulnd´t find the pattern. I am still having a creative chaos in my room, so I hope to find it soon. 
Gestern wollte ich wirklich endlich wieder Buchstaben für den Proverbial QAL nähen, aber leider habe ich das Schnittmuster nicht gefunden. In meinem kreativen Chaos ist es noch untergetaucht...

So the little scrappy vintage sqaures of Sheetal smiled at me and asked me to make totes out of them just right now ;-) - so that´s what I did!
Daraufhin haben mich die kleinen Vintage-Reststücke von Sheetal angelächelt und gesagt: "Nähe uns zu Beuteln - jetzt!" ;-) Gesagt - getan!

 

I am so lucky that my best friend made me a wonderful birthday present last year: "Plant my balcony in May". And yesterday she did - and it turned soooo beautiful. What a special gift!!! So the flowers had to be on the pictures ;-)
Was für ein Glück ich habe. Meine beste Freundin hat mir letztes Jahr zum Geburtstag "Einmal Bakon bepflanzen im Mai" geschenkt und gestern war es endlich so weit. Es ist soooo schön geworden. Was für ein geniales Geschenk!!! Also mussten die Blumen mir rauf auf´s Bild ;-)

Ah, just because I was asked about: Those two took me 5 hours in total from selecting the fabrics, thinking how to arrange, till the end ... not very quick. I couldn´t stop at night before finishing.
Achja, nur weil ich gefragt wurde: Für die beiden Beutel habe ich in allem vom Aussuchen der Stoffe, überlegen, wie ich die Stoffe anordne bis zum Ende 5 Stunden gebraucht... nicht gerade schnell. Ich konnte nicht aufhören, bevor ich sie fertig hatte.

241 Tote - A Stroke of Genius / Ein Geniestreich

I gave my best friend a gift coupon for a 241 tote from NoodleheadSews. So she had to choose the fabrics herselft... It´s always so interesting to watch people choosing fabrics. She picked a fabulous combination! The main fabric is a velvet with applications.

Ich habe meiner besten Freundin eine Gutschein für eine 241 Tote von NoodleheadSews geschenkt. Sie musste nur die Stoffe selber wählen.... Es ist immer wieder spannend, Leute bei der Auswahl von Stoffen zu beobachten. Sie hat eine geniale Kombination gewählt! Der Hauptstoff ist ein Samt mit Applikationen.

I have to confess, that I am always curious, when I find a yellow note in my mailbox: You can pick the parcel the next day!

At the moment I am waiting for 3, no - now for 2 parcels I ordered weeks ago, so I had no idea which one this could be…. Yeah, my handles from Hong Kong arrived – I want to try new bags. Yes, I know, it´s not good for the ecobalance, but it is unbelievable but true, that almost everything is cheaper elsewhere. You order in USA, Hong Kong, Japan, Australia and UK just like this – insane!

But I promised myself to buy less fabrics this year and until now I am on the right track :)

Ich muss gestehen, dass ich immer noch super neugierig bin, wenn ich einen gelben Zettel im Briefkasten habe: Sie können Ihr Paket bei der Post abholen!

Z.Z. habe ich mal wieder 3 Bestellungen laufen, ähem jetz noch 2, die aber schon einige Wochen her sind, also wusste ich nicht, was mich erwartet… Juhu, meine Taschenhenkel aus Hong Kong sind da, ich will neue Taschen ausprobieren. Ja, ich weiß -  Ökobilanz und so, aber leider ist es unglaublich, dass dennoch fast alles billiger ist als hier. Man bestellt dann eben mal in USA, Hong Kong, Japan, Australien oder UK – Wahnsinn!

Aber ich bin meinem Vorsatz bisher treu geblieben und habe viel weniger bestellt als letztes Jahr :)
