Hi Leute, ich hab nix zum Zeigen, würde aber tierisch gern sehen, was Ihr so gemacht habt :-).

Olws become a 241

I had some faux leather in eggplant and a beautiful organic cotton fabric with owls to become a 241 and a coordinating small origami bag, but unfortunately I am missing some parts to finish the bag... Hopefully I can buy the missing parts tomorrow....

Ich hatte Kunststoffleder in aubergine und einen schönen Biobaumwollstoff mit Eulen, um daraus eine 241 und eine passende kleine Origami Bag zu nähen. Leider fehlen mir für die Tasche die Schnallen... Hoffentlich kann ich die Teile morgen besorgen...

I have this book form Amy Butler called Style Stitches and I want to sew some of it from time to time and Sunday was the perfect moment to try her Origami Bags... they are just pouches - but I wanted to see her sizes and I learned a new technique how to sew the zipper very neat and beautiful. So happy, I took my time for it.

Ich habe da dieses Buch von Amy Butler - Style Stitches und ich will immer mal hier und da etwas daraus nähen und Sonntag war der perfekte Tag, um die Origami Bags auszuprobieren... einfach nur Täschchen, aber ich wollte ihre Größen sehen und habe außerdem noch eine geniale Methode gelernt, die Reißverschlüsse schön einzunähen. Voll glücklich, dass ich mir die Zeit genommen habe.



I made all six sizes and I love everyone of them. The biggest one it the red one - you can put shampoo in it and it can stand!!!

I changed them a bit, and cut the Panels to light trapezoids to avoid them looking too much like triangles at the sides - so they got a bit more like rectangels - hope you understood, what I mean ;-).

Ich habe alle sechs Größen genäht und liebe sie alle. Die größte ist die rote - man kann sogar Shampoo reinstellen!!!

Ich habe sie ein wenig verändert, da ich die Panele zu leichten Trapezen geschnitten habe, damit die fertige Tasche nicht wie ein Trapez, sondern mehr rechteckig aussieht - hoffe, ihr versteht, was ich meine ;-).

NY Beauty meets MondayMaker / MontagsMacher

I finally finished my NY Beauty / Scrap Attack Quilt this weekend and I looove it. What did you sew the last days? Just link your projects with the MondayMaker, you will find the linky party at the end of this post and on Suleons blog too.

Ich habe endlich meinen NY Beauty / Scrap Attack Quilt am Wochenende fertig genäht und ich lieeebe ihne. Was habt ihr so die letzten Tage genäht? Verlinkt eure Projekte mit den MontagsMachern, die Linky Party findet ihr am Ende des Posts und ebenso bei Suleon.

Here some facts:

Size:                         1.50 x 2,20 m / 59 x 87 inch

Starting Date:           January 2012 

Fabrics:                    Most of them are scraps

reason to start this:  NY Beauty QAL and Scap Attack QAL

Quilting:                  simple curved lines

Backing:                  checked fabric from Ikea in light pink and Grey / karierter

                               Stoff von Ikea in rosa/weiß

Batting:                    I used a wool batting the first time - seams to be warm :)

Blocks:                     60 (32 NY Beauties and 28 Drunkhards Paths)

14 of those blocks were made by my gorgeous mates of The MoStashBee - thank you so much. Some of them are in the quilt, the rest of your blocks will be a pillow....  don´t worry, I love them all ;-).

I asked my Bee-Mates for drunkhard paths and if they like to make a NY Beauty and they were just fantastic and sewed gorgeous blocks. I am so glad I involved my Bee in this Project, I think I wouldn´t have finished it now.

Ich hatte nach Drunkhard Paths gefragt und vielleicht eine NY Beauty, aber die Mädels fühlten sich herausgefordert und haben tolle Blöcke gezaubert. Bin so froh, dass ich die BEE hier involviert habe, sonst wäre die Decke heute nicht fertig:

2014 Finish Along Q1

Ok, I think, it´s time to define my goals for the next three month. This will be a shorter list, because I have some bigger projects this quarter.

Na gut, ich denke, es ist Zeit, meine "Ziele" für die nächsten drei Monate zu beschreiben. Das wir eine kürzere Liste, da ich ein paar größere Projekte in diesem Vierteljahr habe.

1. My very first point on my list is a quilt - I cannot tell you who is getting this and why, because it could give away the secret. This will be the Domino-Quilt by Cottilello and my bees are going to help me here :).

1. Mein wirklich ersten Punkt ist ein Quilt, wobei ich nicht verraten kann, für wen und zu welchem Anlass er ist. Es wird auf jeden Fall ein Domino-Quilt by Cottilello und meine Bees werden hier helfen :).

2. I really want to finish my NY-Beauty quilt. It´s time, that this becomes a real quilt in use. I made some real progress in paper piecing with these beautiful blocks last year and my bee-mates from the MoStashBee helped me to get some more blocks for this quilt.

2. Dann möchte ich unbedingt meinen NY-Beauty quilt fertig bekommen, da es Zeit wird, dass diese wunderschönen Blöcke endlich als Quilt im Gebrauch sind. Letztes Jahr habe ich hierbei eine Menge Erfahrung beim Paper Piecing gemacht und meine Bee-Mädels der MoStashBee habe mir geholfen, dass es ein paar Blöcke mehr werden.

 

3. The main and most time consuming project is a secret one. So sorry, that I cannot write more about it, but I can show you some blocks for this project. I just can tell you, that this is a real exciting project and I hope I can mange it. Maybe this will not be finished this quarter, but I have a lot to prepare for it the next two month.

 4. I hope, that I can make some unscheduled things next to my goals like playing with economic blocks or making a bag etc.... Also making progress on my EPP-Long-Term-Project is part of this point. I opened a new flickr-group called EPP-QAL (post on my blog on Feb. 11th), where I want to sew new , WIP or UFO- EPP-projects with you. Let´s get inspired.

4. Na, und dann hoffe ich, dass ich noch ein paar schöne ungeplante und spontane Sachen, wie z.B. die Econimic Blöcke oder eine Tasche nähen kann... Ach ja, ein wenig Fortschritt bei meinem EPP-Lanzeitprojekt wäre auch schön. Dafür habe ich eine neue Flickr-Gruppe eröffnet: EPP-QAL (auf meinem Blog am 11. Feb., wo ich mit Euch neue und schon angefangene Projekte nähen möchte. Lasst euch inspirieren.

I really have to thank Leannes Finish Along 2013, because it really helped me to focus on my WIP´s and UFO´s, so that there is time and space for new things.

Ein großes Danke Schön an Leannes Finish Along 2013. Das hat mir echt richtig geholfen, meinen Fokus auf meine WIP´s und UFO´s zu legen, so dass nun wieder Platz und Zeit für neue Sachen ist.
