When I saw the bag Ulrike from Lieblingsdecke made two month ago, I wanted to try it. It is a Bernina pattern called Leather Strap Tote. It is a huge shopping bag or a great bag for the beach. I changed the way how the straps are put together with the bag itself, because the bag has no lining. I made a short lining at the top of the bag to hide the ends of the strap. So I needed no binding - this made the bag much easier and quicker to sew and for me it looks nicer too ;-).

Als ich die Tasche von Ulrike von Lieblingsdecke vor zwei Monaten sah, wollte ich sie unbedingt auch nähen. Es ist eine Anleitung von Bernina, die Leather Strap Tote. Es ist eine riesige Einkaufstasche oder auch ideal für den Strand. Ich habe nur die Art und Weise, wie der Henkel angenäht wurde geändert, ich mag es nicht, wenn man auf der Innenseite alles sieht. Ich hab einfach für den oberen Teil ein Futter dagegen genäht, was mir auch das Schrägband erspart hat. Außerdem finde ich, dass es so auch noch schöner aussieht ;-).

And I finally sewed my voile Loop scarfs - they came out beautiful... One of the loops found already an admirer, so maybe the first one is sold already, makes me very happy!

Außerdem habe ich dann endlich meine Voile Loops genäht - schön geworden.... Der eine Loop hat auch schon via Instagram Anklang und einen eventuellen Abnehmer gefunden, freut mich sehr!

Scrappy Flanell Pillows

I found my Anna Maria Horner flanell scraps which I stuffed into a plastic zipper bag. So glad they came through my fingers last week. I am producing stuff for my market, so cosy pillows are perfect.

Ich habe letzte Woche die Plastiktüte mit meinen Anna Maria Horner Flanellresten gefunden - zum Glück! Da ich gerade am Produzieren bin für meinen Markt in 2,5 Wochen, sind solche kuschligen Kissen natürlich perfekt.

I just started cutting the scraps in rectangles and squares and took the selvedges to make three beautiful and very soft pillows. They are all not too big with 14 x 14 inch. When my Girl saw the first pillow, she took it away to keep it, but I could convince her for the moment, that she has a lot of pillows on her bed already. 

Ich habe einfach angefangen Rechtecke und Quadrate zu schneiden und hab auch noch die Webkanten verbraucht, um drei wunderschöne und super weiche Kissen zu nähen. Sie sind nicht so groß mit ihren 40 x 40 cm. Als meine Tochter das erste Kissen sah, war es auch schon verschwunden. Ich konnte sie aber erst Mal überzeugen, dass sie doch wirklich genug Kissen auf ihrem Bett hat.

Today I am going to try to sew some endless scarfs.

Heute versuche ich ein paar Loop Schals zu nähen.

MondayMakers meet maniac weekend quilter

After a week in bed and another week working so hard, because I missed one week at work I felt so good heading home Friday for lunch and a sewing weekend. The weather was so brilliant, that I interrupted my maniac sewing seshion a couple of times to meet with friends. My daughter was away so I just could be the nerd :).

First I really wanted to finish my Liberty All Zipped up Bag from the Liberty Love book. There are only some handstitches to make at the ends of the Zipper. When the bag is totally finished I will show it to you again, I am not so sure about the shape how it hangs at the body...

Nach einer Woche im Bett und einer nächsten, wo ich alles aufarbeiten musste, was liegengeblieben war bei der Arbeit, hab ich mich am Freitag echt super gefühlt, als es zum Mittag nach Hause ging für ein Nähwochenende. Das Wetter war brilliant, so dass ich ab und an das Nähen unterbrechen musste, um mich mit Freunden zu treffen. Meine Tochter war weg und ich konnte Nerd sein :-)

Zuerst habe wollte ich meine Liberty All Zipped up Bag fertig nähen aus dem Buch: Liberty Love. Nun sind nur noch ein paar Handstiche zu erledigen an den Reißverschlussenden. Wenn die Tasche komplett fertig ist, zeige ich sie euch nochmal. Ich bin nicht so ganz überzeugt davon, wie sie am Körper anliegt...



Then I started with Janeens from Quilt Art Designs Art QAL called Girl with Long hair in the wind. I am so excited about this project, I love paper piecing, it´s like puzzeling for others ;-). I finished part 1 and 2 and the next part will be introduced by her this week. I wasn´t really sure about the Colors, I even thought of taking green and flowers for the face like Shakespeares Summernight Dreams.

Als nächstes habe ich mir den QAL von Janeen - Quilt Art Designs vorgenommen: Girl with long hair in the wind, das reizt mich ungemein. Für mich ist Paper Piecing wie für andere puzzeln - genial, wenn sich alles zusammenfügt. Teil 1 und 2 habe ich fertig. Teil drei wird von ihr diese Woche vorgestellt. Ich bin weg vom braun und habe echt lange überlegt, welche Farben ich nehmen soll. War sogar zwischendurch bei grün und habe an eine Waldfee wie in Shakespears Sommernachtstraum gedacht mit Blumen im Gesicht ;-). Naja, nun wird es ein wenig klassischer...

Almost everything I am sewing the next three weeks will be for my market or my internet shop (starts in April). I sew what I like and that´s why I made this pillow out of Flanell scaps from my Letters meet AMH quilt. There are still enough for a secone or maybe third one. Will see, if I can make it.

Fast alles, was ich gerade nähe, ist für den Markt oder für meinen Internet Shop (April). Ich nähe aber nur, was mir Spaß macht und so habe ich das Kissen aus Flanellresten von dem Letters meet AMH Quilt genäht. Es gibt noch genug Reste für mindestens einen oder sogar zwei Kissen.

Selvedge Love / Verliebt in Webkanten

If I am in the mood to sew, but have not the energy to think too much, I sew QAYG- or selvedge pouches. This is so satisfying. Making something our of scraps and selvedges is perfect. So I made some panels one evening and finished the pouches the next evening.

Wenn ich Lust habe zu nähen, aber mein Energiedepot nicht gut gefüllt ist, dann nähe ich gern QAYG- oder Webkantentäschchen. Die gehen immer. Nähen aus Resten und Webkanten ist einfach perfekt und befriedigend. Also habe ich an dem einen Abend die Panele für die Täschchen genäht und am anderen diese vollendet.

Now I have 5 more pouches to sell on my market at the end of the month. Maybe only 4, the blue one makes it hard to part with.... so maybe I keep this one.

Nun habe ich weitere 5 Täschchen für den Markt Ende des Monats. Naja, vielleicht auch nur 4, denn das blaue hat es mir echt angetan, weiß nicht, ob ich mich davon trennen kann.

After laying in bed for a week with a bad cough I started sewing again last weekend. I finished my two blocks for suleon for the Bee Germany, finished a quilt for a secret project and started cutting in my beautiful voiles for some infinity scarfs to sell on a market and in my online shop which starts in April. It felt good to come along with some sewing things.... hope my full energy comes back soon, I am very optimistically.


Nachdem ich die ganze letzte Woche mit einer Kehlkopfentzündung im Bett verbracht habe, konnte ich am Wochenende endlich wieder nähen. Ich habe immerhin die beiden Bee Germany Blöcke für suleon genäht, einen Quilt für mein geheimes Projekt fertig genäht und in meine wunderschönen Voiles geschnitten, um daraus Endlosschals für meinen Markt und meinen Online Shop zu nähen, der im April auf Sendung gehen soll. Es hat sich echt gut angefühlt, endlich wieder was zu nähen... hoffe, meine gesamte Energie kehrt bald zurück, ich bin da recht optimistisch.
